Vote to pass a bill that establishes limits to election contributions made by Limited Liability Corporations (LLCs), effective January 1, 2020.
Requires a LLC to be a separate entity and distinct from its members, except that political contributions made by a domestic or foreign limited liability to be allocated to the members of the LLC, for the purpose of determining compliance with contribution limits (Sec. 1).
Requires that for reporting contributions and determining whether a person has exceeded the contribution limit, a contribution made shall be attributed to its members as if the contribution were made by the members (Sec. 2).
Specifies that for a single-member LLC, the entire contribution shall be attributed to the member, and for a multi-member LLC , the contribution shall be allocated to the members on the basis of each member’s percentage membership interest in the company (Sec. 2).
