Title: Authorizes Annual Farming Construction Code Building Exemptions
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes certain farming exemptions for construction building codes.
Requires a farming building owner to annually comply with a building inspector who will determine if their building meets all the safety conditions in order to be considered a historical agricultural building, including (Sec. 2):
The building complies with fire safety provisions such as wired or wireless smoke detectors;
Portable fire extinguishers placed in accessible building locations; and
Signs prohibiting smoking or open flames inside the building, except open flames for the purpose of reheating or maintaining food temperatures.
Defines “historical agricultural building” as a building originally constructed before January 1, 1999 and is used for occupancy by the general public for weddings, receptions, and similar social events throughout the year (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this act shall take effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 3).
