Vote to pass a bill that authorizes solar energy development in low-income communities.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the Energy and Natural Resources Commission allow at least 2 new low-moderate income community solar projects in each utilities service territory beginning January 2, 2020 (Sec. 2).

• Defines “Low-moderate Income Community Solar Project” as a ground mounted or rooftop solar arrays that directly benefit a group of at least 5 residential end-user customers, where the majority of the customers are at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty line (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that this act will go into effect 60 days after passage (Sec. 2).
