Vote to pass a bill that authorizes solar energy development in low-income communities.
Authorizes the Energy and Natural Resources Commission allow at least 2 new low-moderate income community solar projects in each utilities service territory beginning January 2, 2020 (Sec. 2).
Defines “Low-moderate Income Community Solar Project” as a ground mounted or rooftop solar arrays that directly benefit a group of at least 5 residential end-user customers, where the majority of the customers are at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty line (Sec. 2).
Specifies that this act will go into effect 60 days after passage (Sec. 2).
