Vote to pass a bill that requires abortion providers tell patients about their options to continue a pregnancy after taking the abortion medication Mifepristone.

Highlights:

• Requires the individual on whom an abortion is performed to be informed that research indicates that Mifepristone by itself is not always effective in ending a pregnancy, and if they change their mind and wish to continue a pregnancy after taking Mifepristone, information on finding immediate medical assistance is available on the Department of Health and Human Services website (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Health and Human Services to publish materials designed to inform the individual on whom an abortion is performed that they may still have a viable pregnancy after taking Mifepristone (Sec. 2).

• Requires these materials include the following statements (Sec. 2):

• “Research indicates that Mifepristone alone is not always effective in ending a pregnancy. You may still have a viable pregnancy after taking Mifepristone. If you change your mind and want to continue your pregnancy after taking Mifepristone, it may not be too late”; and

• Materials including contact information, that will assist the person on whom an abortion is performed in finding a medical professional who can help them continue their pregnancy after taking Mifepristone.

• Specifies that breast-feeding a child in a public place is not an action considered to be the crime of public indecency (Sec. 4).
