Vote to pass a bill that appropriates $12 million to encourage participation in the 2020 US Census.

Highlights:

• Establishes a 2020 Census Outreach Grant Program to provide grants to eligible recipients to support the accurate count of the population for the 2020 Census (Sec. 2).

• Defines “eligible recipients” as an entity that is eligible to receive a grant and includes the following (Sec. 2):

• Local governments;

• Intergovernmental agencies;

• Councils of government;

• Housing authorities;

• School districts;

• Nonprofit organizations;

• The Southern Ute Indian Tribe; and

• The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe.

• Requires the Department of Local Affairs to develop policies and procedures to implement and administer the grant program (Sec. 2).
