Title: Requires Diaper Changing Stations in Public Restrooms
Vote to pass a bill that requires buildings to have diaper changing stations in public restrooms.
Requires an individual, private firm, organization, or corporation that owns or manages a commercial place of public accommodation to install and maintain at least one diaper changing station that is accessible to all genders when the facility is open to the public (Sec. 1).
Requires a facility to ensure that the entrance to each diaper changing station has signage that indicates the location of the station (Sec. 1).
Requires the facility to ensure that the central directory to indicates the location of the diaper changing station, if the facility has a central directory (Sec. 1).
Defines “diaper changing station” as a table or other device suitable for changing the diaper of a child 3 years of age or younger (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this bill applies to any new building or facility to be constructed as a place of public accommodation on or after january 1, 2021 (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this section also applies to any single renovation of an existing building or facility is proposed to be constructed on or after January 1, 2021, if the cost of the renovation exceeds $50,000 (Sec. 1).
