Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the Governor hire and set the salary for the Director of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.

Highlights:

• Requires the Oklahoma Health Care Authority Board to consist of the following nine members (Sec. 1):

• Five members appointed by the Governor;

• Two members appointed by the Speaker of the House; and

• Two members appointed by the President of the Senate.

• Requires each member to serve at the pleasure of his or her appointing authority (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the removal or replacement without cause of any member of the Board (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits any member of the Board from voting on any issue in which a member has a direct financial interest (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Administrator of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority is to be an ex official member of the Board, but is entitled to vote only in cases of a tie vote (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Administrator to be appointed by the Governor, with the consent of the Senate, and to serve at the pleasure of the Governor (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes the removal or replacement of the Administrator  without cause (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes compensation for the Administrator to be determined by the Governor (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes the administrator to be removed from office by a two-thirds vote of the members elected to and constituting each chamber of the Legislature  (Sec. 2).
