Title: Prohibits Cities from Banning Plastic Bags
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits cities from establishing ordinances that would ban plastic bags.
Specifies that no political subdivision or municipality shall restrict, tax, prohibit, or regulate the use, disposition, or sale of auxiliary containers (Sec. 1).
Defines “auxiliary container” as any bag, cup, package, container, bottle, or device that designed for consuming, transporting, or protecting merchandise, food or beverages and is made of the following materials, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
Cloth or paper;
Plastic or cardboard; and
Aluminum or glass.
Prohibits this act from limiting any county or municipal ordinance or agreement regarding a recycling program or the disposal of solid waste (Sec. 1).
