Vote to adopt a conference report that establishes the Criminal Justice Reclassification Coordination Council which will review and recommend the classification of all felonies under Oklahoma law.

Highlights:

• Establishes the Criminal Justice Reclassification Coordination Council (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the Council shall review and recommend the following (Sec. 1):

• The classification of all felonies into appropriate categories;

• Appropriate sentence lengths for each class of felonies;

• Appropriate enhanced sentences for habitual offenders; and

• Other appropriate changes to improve the criminal justice system.

• Specifies that the recommendations of the council shall intend to reduce or hold neutral the prison population (Sec. 1).
