Title: Amends One-Stop Voting Schedules

Vote to override a veto of a bill that establishes one-stop voting sites.

Highlights:

 

  • Specifies that beginning on the third Wednesday and ending at 7 PM the Friday before an election, voters may vote at a one-stop early voting site (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires that all one-stop voting sites provide the following (Sec. 2):

    • All sites must be open at the same time;

    • All sites must be open from 7 AM to 7 PM on weekdays they are required to be open; and

    • All sites must be open on Saturdays and Sundays for an equal number of hours when required to be open.

  • Requires that the County Board of Elections submit an annual report to the State Board on September 1st with its list maintenance, which the State Board shall compile and submit to the Joint Legislative Elections Oversight Committee by October 1st of each year (Sec. 4).

NOTE: A THREE- FIFTHS MAJORITY OF THE ELECTED MEMBERS IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A GOVERNOR'S VETO.
