Title: Prohibits Lobbyist Gifts to Government Officials
A vote to pass a bill that prohibits lobbyists from giving gifts to government officials.
Prohibits officials appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate from acting as a lobbyist until 6 months after they leave their post (Sec. 105.455).
Prohibits elected and appointed government officials from acting as lobbyists until 2 years after they leave their post (Sec. 105.455).
Prohibits employees of governing bodies from accepting gifts in excess of $5.00 per lobbyist per day (Sec. 105.458):
Exempts campaign contributions; or
Exempts family gifts.
Requires the registration of lobbyists that will include the names and addresses of lobbyists, their employees, and their clients and specifies that these records will be public (Sec. 105.473).
Requires that electronic communication between government bodies are transmitted to a public office computer or the custodian of records in the same format (Sec. 610.025).
Prohibits government staff from downloading or using software designed to send encrypted messages that automatically self-destruct (Sec. 610.025).
