Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the advertising of unhealthy food and beverage products in schools.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the advertising of any food or beverage that may be sold on the school campus during the day (Sec. 1).

• Requires that food or beverage sold on campus during the school day must meet the minimum nutrition standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the advertising of non-regulation food or beverage on broadcast, digital, or print media, unless this media is controlled by the school or its students (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the advertising of non-regulation food or beverage on clothing, product packaging, and food trucks that may be brought on school grounds (Sec. 1).

• Requires that this restriction take effect on September 1, 2018 (Sec. 1).
