Vote to concur with governor recommendation and pass a bill that establishes a surcharge on prearranged rides and increases fees associated with motor vehicle violations.

Highlights:

• Establishes a $0.30 surcharge upon every prearranged ride that begins and ends within the state (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that only a $0.25 surcharge will be imposed on the rider of a sharded ride (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that no surcharge will be imposed on a ride that begins and ends in a county with a population of fewer than 200,000 people according to the latest decennial census (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this act will take effect immediately and apply to all prearranged ride beginning on or after October 1, 2018 (Sec. 5).
