Title: Establishes Election Day Voter Registration and Same-Day Voting
Vote to pass a bill that establishes election day voter registration and same day voting.
Specifies that this act is for the purpose of proposing to the Maryland Constitution an amendment to authorize authorize the General Assembly to allow a qualified individual to register and vote at a precinct polling place on Election Day (Sec. 1).
Requires individual to be the following during registration and voting time (Sec. 1):
At least 18 years of age;
A U.S. citizen; and
A citizen of the state of Maryland.
Establishes individual’s right to vote at precinct polling place until their place of residence has changed (Sec. 1).
Requires the General Assembly to provide for a uniform registration of the names of all the voters in the state who posses the previous requirements (Sec. 2).
