Highlights:

 

  • Authorizes a custodial parent, foster parent, or guardian of a minor child to monitor the child’s communications (Sec. 539).

  • Prohibits a parent or guardian from monitoring a child’s communications with any of the following individuals (Sec. 539):

    • The minor child’s attorney or guardian ad litem;

    • A child custody investigator; or

    • The other custodial parent, unless the safety of the child is at risk.
