Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that establishes a commission to encourage participation in the 2020 census.

Highlights:

• Requires the state census commission be made up of 25 members which consist of the following individuals, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):

• 2 members of the New Jersey Legislative Latino Caucus, 1 from the Senate and 1 from the General Assembly;

• 2 members of the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus, 1 from the Senate and 1 from the General Assembly.

• Specifies that it is the duty of the commission to develop, recommend, and assists in the administration of a census outreach strategy to encourage full participation in the 2020 federal census (Sec. 7).

• Specifies that this act shall take effect immediately upon passage and will expire on January 1, 2020 (Sec. 9).
