Vote to pass a bill that requires monetary compensation for incarcerated individuals wrongfully convicted for a crime.

Highlights:

• Establishes the definition of a wrongfully imprisoned individual (Sec. 1).

• Specifies the bill now includes misdemeanors as appropriate reason for compensation regarding wrongfully imprononsind individuals (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a right to compensation for individuals wrongfully imprisoned by the Brady Rule (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a right to compensation for any error commitment by the court before,during, or after the time of sentencing for wrongfully imprisoned individuals (Sec. 1).

• Cost of debts the department of rehabilitation and correction recovered;

• Any user fee or copayment for services at a detention facility;

• Cost of feeding and boarding individual in facility;

• Cost of supervision over the individual; and

• Cost of any healthcare services provided.

• Specifies if the wrongfully imprisoned individual owes any debt to the state or any of its political subdivisions said amount will be retracted from the sum of money entitled (Sec. 1).

• Requires individual to reimburse state any sum of money dispersed if individual is later found guilty to offense (Sec. 1).
