Vote to pass a bill that authorizes veterans to opt out of paying for or renewing a concealed carry permit.

Highlights:

• Requires that the payment of the license fee for a concealed carry permit be waived for applicants who are active or reserved members of the armed forces of the United States or has retired or was honorably discharged from military service (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes that applicants that retired from or was honorably discharged from military service in the active or reserved Armed Forces within the previous ten years may be waived from having certification training (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes that peace officers that have retired within the previous ten years may be waived from having certification training (Sec. 1).    

• Authorizes that a concealed carry license can be renewed at any time before the expiration date rather than within a 90 day period (Sec. 1).
