Title: Requires Lead Testing in School Water Systems
Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that authorizes schools test for lead levels in drinking water.
Specifies that if a school entity decides not to test for lead levels in drinking waters, that school shall discuss lead issues at public forums and meetings (Sec. 3).
Defines “school entity” as any of the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):
School district;
Intermediate unit;
Joint school;
Area vocational-technical school;
Charter school or regional charter school; or
Cyber charter school.
Requires alternate sources of drinking water be made immediately available for school facilities whose lead levels are found to be in excess of the maximum lead containment level set by the EPA(Sec. 3).
