Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that authorizes schools test for lead levels in drinking water.

Highlights:

• Authorizes school facilities where children attend be tested for lead levels in the drinking water on a yearly basis beginning in the 2018-19 school year (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that if a school entity decides not to test for lead levels in drinking waters, that school shall discuss lead issues at public forums and meetings (Sec. 3).

• Defines “school entity” as any of the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):

• School district;

• Intermediate unit;

• Joint school;

• Area vocational-technical school;

• Charter school or regional charter school; or
