Highlights:

• Exempts from legal liability or criminal prosecution any licensed physician or individual that provides a prescription for an aid-in-dying drug to any terminally ill individual that meets the requirements under the End of Life Option Act until January 1, 2026 (Sec. 1).

• Amends the California Penal Code to specify that any individual that deliberately aids, advises, or encourages another individual to commit suicide guilty of a felony (Sec. 1).

Vote to pass a bill that exempts from prosecution the act of aiding, advising, or encouraging suicide for individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Highlights:

• Exempts from legal liability or criminal prosecution any licensed physician or individual that provides a prescription for an aid-in-dying drug for any terminally ill individual that meets the requirements under the End of Life Option until January 1, 2026 (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that no action taken in accordance with this act constitute as any of the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Suicide or assisted suicide;

• Homicide; or

• Elder abuse.
