Vote to pass a bill that requires school districts to report any inappropriate conduct to that state within 60 days of receiving the information.

Highlights:

• Requires that a full or part-time school official under contract in an intermediate school district, public school academy, or nonpublic school report to the state department within 60 days upon receiving information on a school employee’s unprofessional conduct or listed offense (Sec. 1230).

• Defines “unprofessional conduct” as acts of immorality, moral turpitude, inappropriate behaviour, or listed offense involving a minor (Sec. 1230).

• Defines “listed offense” as the term defined in the sex offenders registration act of 1994 involving a minor or child (Sec. 1230)

• Specifies that a criminal conviction is not required for determining whether or not a particular act constitutes unprofessional conduct (Sec. 1230).
