Title: Classifies Delivery a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death as a Crime
Vote to pass a bill that classifies controlled substance delivery resulting in death as a crime punishable by up to life in prison.
Requires a sentence of life in prison for any individual who knowingly sells or provides a controlled substance to a minor which result in the death of the minor (Sec. 2).
Specifies that any individual who knowingly exchanges a controlled substance for anything of value with an adult, or unlawfully delivers a controlled substance to an adult, which then results in the death of the adult is guilty of controlled substance delivery resulting in death (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the penalty for controlled substance delivery resulting in death is up to life in prison (Sec. 3).
Exempts any individual who, in good faith, seeks medical assistance for an individual experiencing an overdose from being charged with controlled substance delivery resulting in death if evidence for such charge was obtained as a result of seeking medical assistance (Sec. 3).
