Title: Reduces College Credits Required for Substitute Teachers
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires fewer college credits in order to be a substitute teacher.
Authorizes a school district to employ an individual without a teaching certificate as a substitute teacher if the individual has at least 60 semester hours of college credit or an associate degree for substitute teaching in grades 9 to 12 (Sec. 1233).
Requires the individual to be at least 22 years of age (Sec. 1233).
Specifies that the 60 semester hours do not need to be from the same college or university (Sec. 1233).
