Highlights:

 

  • Authorizes an indictment to be filed within 10 years after the offense is committed or by the alleged victim's 21st birthday, whichever is later, for any of the following crimes (Sec. 24):

    • Armed robbery;

    • Kidnapping;

    • Extortion;

    • Assault with intent to commit murder;

    • Attempted murder;

    • Manslaughter; or

    • First-degree home invasion.

  • Specifies that if any of the above offenses is reported within 1 year and the offender is an unknown individual, the indictment may be filed within 10 years after the individual is identified (Sec. 24).
