  • Establishes the Interagency Committee on Chemical Management to identify chemicals in consumer products and reduce potential health and environmental risks from exposure to such (Sec. 1).

  • Requires product manufacturers to notify the Department of Health of the presence of a chemical of high concern and how such information is made available to the public (Sec. 2).

  • Requires testing of new groundwater sources and potable water supplies for arsenic, lead, uranium, gross alpha radiation, total coliform bacteria, total nitrate and nitrite, fluoride, manganese, and other chemicals specified by the agency (Sec. 3).
