  • Requires, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, each local education agency (LEA) to submit, at least annually, a report to the Department of Education on the number of instances corporal punishment was used and the reason for each instance (Sec. 1).

  • Requires the report to include whether each instance involved a student with an active individualized education program or an active 504 plan (Sec. 1).

  • Requires the Department of Education to provide this information on its website each year (Sec. 1).

  • Prohibits all reports from including any personal information, as stipulated in the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (Sec. 1).
