Title: Amends Abortion Regulations
Vote to pass with amendment a bill that amends various abortion regulations.
Requires the following individuals report to the state department each case where they treated a patient suffering from an abortion complication (Sec. 9):
A licensed physician;
A licensed hospital; and
A licensed abortion provider.
Requires the report cover the following information concerning the abortion complication, including, but not limited to (Secs. 9 & 10):
The date of treatment for the abortion complication and the type of abortion;
The age, race, ethnicity, marital status, and educational level of the patient;
The county and state of the patient’s residence;
The number of previous live births or deceased children; and
The date and name of clinic where the abortion was obtained.
Defines “abortion complication” as any adverse physical or psychological condition arising from an abortion, including, but not limited to (Sec. 9):
Uterine or cervical perforation;
Infection, hemorrhaging, or blood clots;
Incomplete abortion, or failure to terminate the pregnancy;
Cardiac arrest, shock, or coma; and
Depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, sleeping disorders, or death.
Requires abortion physicians under FDA guidelines, provide the pregnant woman with a copy of the manufacturer's instructions sheets and require the women sign the manufacturers patient agreement form, which will then be included in the patient's file (Sec. 7).
Specifies that an abortion clinic’s application meet the following requirements in order to attain an abortion clinic license, including, but not limited to (Sec. 6):
Whether the abortion clinics owner has ever operated an abortion clinic that was closed as a direct result of patient health and safety concerns;
Whether a clinic staff member was ever convicted of a felony; and
Provide copies of inspection reports and violation remediation contracts.
