A vote to pass a bill that authorizes a delay in the date by which brick makers and residential wood heaters have to comply with emission standards of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Highlights:

 

  • Extends each compliance date by 60 days after the date in which notice of the promulgation of the final rule appears in the Federal Register (Sec. 2).

  • Defines “final rules” as any rule to address the national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants of entities that manufacture bricks or structural clay products (Sec. 2).

  • Defines “compliance date” as the date in which any individual, state, local or tribal government is first required to comply with the emission standards (Sec. 2).
