Vote to pass with amendment a bill that places a cap on the length of time an individual may receive workers' compensation benefits.
Requires employers to pay benefits for 780 weeks from the date of injury or last exposure in cases where permanent partial disability is awarded (Sec. 1).
Authorizes individuals receiving benefits to apply for a continuation of benefits 75 days prior to termination of benefits (Sec. 1).
Requires employers to pay benefits as long as the employee’s disability exists in cases where permanent total disability is awarded (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the maximum fee an attorney may receive from a disability suit is $18,000 (Sec. 10).
Increases the percentage of the state average weekly wage that must be paid for all types of disability benefits (Sec. 13).
Specifies that all payable benefits shall terminate upon the employee reaching the age of 70, or 2 years after the date of injury, whichever is later (Sec. 13).
