Vote to pass a bill that repeals special elections within the state of Alabama and authorizes the Governor's appointee to serve until the next general election, effective immediately upon passage.
Authorizes the governor to appoint the successor to a US Senate seat in cases where there is a vacancy until the next general election (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the Governor shall appoint a Senate replacement if a US Senate vacancy has occurred less than 76 days prior to the general election and the previous incumbent (Sec. 1).
