Vote to pass a bill that prohibits abortions based on a fetal diagnosis of Down Syndrome.

Highlights:

• Prohibits any individual from performing, inducing, or attempting to induce or perform an abortion on a pregnant patient if such individual is aware that the patient is seeking the abortion due to a prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome, a test result indicating Down Syndrome, or any other reason to believe the fetus has Down Syndrome (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a violation of the above provision as a fourth degree felony (Sec. 1).

• Requires the state medical board to revoke the license of any physician who violates the provisions of this bill (Sec. 1).

• Requires physicians to attest that to their knowledge the patient was not seeking an abortion due to Down Syndrome on the abortion report currently required under state law (Sec. 1).
