Vote to pass a bill which establishes a budget for fiscal year 2017-2018.
Specifies that funds allocated to higher education institutions will be contingent on several factors including the workload of faculty, graduation rates, and employment levels of students who completed a degree (Sec. 603).
Requires a freeze on funds for tuition at 2-year technical colleges (Sec. 1043).
Establishes a 5% tuition cut for the University of Wisconsin system (Sec. 1637).
Amends Wisconsin’s health care system by transitioning to a self-insurance model for state employees (Sec. 711).
Reduces the 2 lowest individual income tax brackets by 0.1% (Sec. 1031).
Specifies that payments to the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation are no longer exempt from taxation and requires an annual report on how those funds are used (Sec. 1784).
Repeals the state’s prevailing wage requirements for construction projects including those led by the Department of Transportation (Sec. 9352).
Authorizes the Building Commission to use state funds for any project costing $900,000 or less., such as the design and construction of a building, acquisition of land, or repair of a structure or facility (Sec. 3).
