  • Amends voter registration practices, allowing eligible Illinois citizens to automatically register to vote during routine interactions with state agencies including the secretary of state’s office, the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and the Department of Natural Resources (Sec. 10).

  • Requires state agencies to transmit an individual’s name, age, residence, and citizenship information to municipal boards of registrars within 5 days of collecting it in order for that individual to be automatically registered to vote (Sec. 10).

  • Authorizes Illinois residents to opt out if they do not wish to register (Sec. 10).

  • Repeals the requirement to fill out a form with a local election officer in order to register to vote (Sec. 10).
