A vote to pass a bill that amends regulations of consumer access to medical marijuana.
Establishes clearer procedures for the governance of marijuana and the rights of users and establishments (Sec. 2)
Authorizes voters of a city or town to limit the number of marijuana establishments in the city or town through a specified ballot procedure (Sec. 11).
Authorizes a qualified patient with a debilitating medical condition to obtain a written certification from a healthcare professional to purchase medical marijuana (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the Cannabis Control Commission to regulate the marijuana industry, to issue and revoke marijuana licenses, and to inspect marijuana establishments for violations (Sec. 2).
Establishes a state tax on marijuana purchases and authorizes cities and towns to append an additional tax, revenue from which a city or town may keep (Sec. 2).
Prohibits granting more than 1 marijuana manufacturing license to an individual (Sec. 2).
Requires individuals wishing to operate a cannabis establishment to obtain a license through an application provided by the Cannabis Control Commission (Sec. 2).
Amends penalties for violations of this law (Sec. 2).
Prohibits individuals convicted of a felony from obtaining a marijuana license (Sec. 2).
Establishes labeling requirements and advertising standards for marijuana products (Sec. 2).
