Title: Establishes New Primary Election Dates
Vote to pass a bill that establishes new primary election dates.
Establishes primary elections be held in March (Sec. 1).
Species that the filing with the proper board for notice of a candidate seeking the primary nomination begins at noon on the first Monday in December and ends at noon on the third Friday in December for the following offices (Sec. 2):
Governor;
Lieutenant governor;
All state executive officers;
Justices of the Supreme Court;
Judges of the Court of Appeals;
Judges of the superior court;
Judges of the district court;
United States Senators;
Members of the House of Representatives of the United States;
District attorneys;
State Senators;
Members of the State House of Representatives; and
All county offices.
Specifies that, starting with the 2020 primary elections and every four years thereafter, voters will be able to give their presidential candidate preference on the Tuesday after the first Monday in March (Sec. 3).
