Vote to pass a bill with an amendment that authorizes school districts which lack K-12 programs to enroll their students in private schools as long as they are nonsectarian.
Specifies that the family of a student transferred to a private school will not be charged the private school’s tuition (Sec. 1).
Authorizes school boards to assign students to other public schools in the district if their current school does not offer a student’s specific grade level (Sec. 3).
Requires school districts to comply with this legislation for all students in grades K-12 (Secs. 4 & 5).
