Vote to pass a bill that establishes medical marijuana growing regulations.
Specifies that the following conditions qualify for medical marijuana treatment (Sec. 3):
Cancer;
Epilepsy;
Glaucoma;
HIV;
PTSD;
ALS;
Crohn’s Disease;
Parkinson’s Disease;
Multiple Sclerosis; and
Terminal illness.
Requires patients to be examined every 30 weeks in order to remain qualified to receive medical marijuana from a certified physician (Sec. 4).
Prohibits physicians from being employed or having any direct or indirect economic interest in medical marijuana treatment centers or laboratories (Sec. 4).
Prohibits physicians from prescribing more than three 70-day supplies of medical marijuana at any given time (Sec. 4).
Establishes the Medical Marijuana Use Registry to be used by prescribing physicians, law enforcement, and medical marijuana treatment centers (Sec. 5).
Requires individuals to provide proof of residence to be entered into the registry and certified to obtain medical marijuana (Sec. 5).
Exempts medical marijuana and any affiliated delivery service from being imposed the sales taxes that are referred to in this bill (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the state will give licensing preference to entities that demonstrate in their application that they own 1 or more facilities that are, or were, used for canning or processing citrus fruit (Sec. 8).
Prohibits medical marijuana treatment centers from owning and operating more than 25 facilities statewide (Sec. 8).
Prohibits medical marijuana treatment centers from engaging in profit sharing with property owners or lessors of any of its marijuana facilities (Sec. 8).
Prohibits medical marijuana treatment centers from dispensing medical marijuana to an individual under 18 years of age (Sec. 8).
Authorizes cities to make ordinances to specify treatment center locations (Sec. 10).
Specifies that any individual found guilty of possessing or manufacturing a counterfeit marijuana registry card is guilty of a 3rd degree felony (Sec. 10).
