Vote to pass a bill that establishes a budget for the 2017-2019 biennium.

Highlights:

•  Appropriates $48 million to the State Public Works Division of the Department of Administration to be spent on capital improvements and operations for the next biennium (Sec. 1).

• Requires the State Public Works Division to spend $9 million and the State Board of Finance to issue up to $117 million in bonds for the repair of government-owned buildings and facilities (Secs. 6 & 9).

• Appropriates $43.2 million to construct a new engineering building at the University of Nevada in Reno (Sec. 23).

• Appropriates $1.04 million for the exclusive purpose of funding the state’s debt service payments (Sec. 12).

• Appropriates $34.2 million to operate the National Guard Readiness Center over the next biennium (Sec. 23).

• Specifies that an ad valorem tax of 15.45 cents on each $100 of assessed valuation of taxable property will be levied for both fiscal years of the next biennium (Sec. 30).

• Appropriates $1 million in obligation bonds for the 2017-2019 biennium to fund conservation of, and capital improvements to, certain water systems (Sec. 30).

• Specifies that funds collected from the annual tax on slot machines will go towards the Special Capital Construction Fund for Higher Education (Sec. 35).
