Title: Requires Certain Employers to Provide Paid Sick Leave
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires certain employers to provide paid sick leave to employees.
Requires certain employers to provide employees with paid sick and safe leave (Sec. 1).
Authorizes employers to deduct earned sick and safe leave from the amount paid to an individual upon termination of employment (Sec. 1).
Prohibits certain employers from requiring an employee to search for or find an individual to work in their place during paid leave (Sec. 1).
Requires restaurant employers to offer their employees their base rate of pay (Sec. 1).
Authorizes employees to accrue paid leave at the same or greater rate than the state standard (Sec. 1).
Specifies that paid leave laws only apply to employees who work more than 12 hours a week, is employed on an as-needed basis, or is covered by a bona fide collective bargaining agreement (Sec. 1).
Specifies that existing sick and safe leave laws of counties and municipalities supersede the state laws if they meet or exceed state requirements (Sec. 1).
Requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide paid leave to each employee at the same wage rate as what they normally earn (Sec. 1).
Requires employers with 14 employees to provide their employees with earned unpaid sick and safe leave (Sec. 1).
Prohibits employers from placing a 40-hour cap on earned leave (Sec. 1).
Prohibits employers from placing a 64-hour cap on usage and accumulation leave (Sec. 1).
