Vote to pass a bill that raises the minimum age for the purchase and sale of tobacco products and electronic smoking devices from 19 to 21.

Highlights:

• Increases the minimum age for purchasing tobacco and electronic smoking devices from 19 to 21 (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits the direct or indirect sale or distribution for commercial purposes to a person under the age of 21 of (Sec. 2):

• Any cigarettes made of tobacco or any other material that can be smoked;

• Any electronic smoking device that can be used to deliver nicotine or other substances to the person inhaling from device, including but not limited to an electric cigarette, cigar, cigarillo, or pipe, or any cartridge or other component of the device or related product.  

•  Establishes that any person who sells or otherwise provides a tobacco product to a person under 21 years of age shall be liable to a fine of $250 for the first violation, $500 for the second violation, and $1,000 for the third and each subsequent violation (Sec. 2).
