Vote to pass a bill that reduces state government funds given to Planned Parenthood of Iowa

Highlights:

• Prohibits an individual enrolled in the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan from using their insurance to cover an abortion (Sec. 51).

• Prohibits the distribution of state funds to any family planning service that performs abortions (Sec. 90).

• Prohibits funds from the Medical Assistance Program from being used for abortions (Sec. 12).

• Prohibits the use of state funds from being used at family planning clinics for administrative costs, overhead, employee salaries, rent, or utility costs related to the service of an abortion (Sec. 90).

• Appropriates $24 million to reduce the use of, and addiction to, tobacco, alcohol, drugs and gambling (Sec. 2).

• Prohibits the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from receiving indirect costs from funds appropriated to the Department of Public Health (Sec. 3).
