Vote to pass a bill that establishes licensure requirements, fees, and appropriations for abortion facilities.

Highlights:

• Appropriates $55,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $8,000 in fiscal year 2019 from the state government special revenue fund to the commissioner of health for licensing activities (Sec. 2).

• Requires obtaining a license from the commissioner of health in order for an abortion facility to be established, operated, or maintained in the state of Minnesota (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes an abortion facility license to be issued for either a 2-year or 6-month period (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that to be eligible for a license, an abortion facility must be accredited within 6 months of the date of the license application (Sec. 1).

• Establishes a biennial abortion facility license fee of $365 (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits abortions at any facility that is licensed as a hospital or as an outpatient surgical center (Sec. 1).

• Requires the commissioner to inspect each abortion facility prior to initial licensure and at least once every 2 years thereafter (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the commissioner to inspect an abortion facility without giving prior notice (Sec. 1).
