Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public entities and public employees from entering into confidential settlements of "whistleblower" claims and requires such settlements to be in public domain.

Highlights:

•  Prohibits public entities from including confidentiality clauses when settling whistleblower lawsuits, except for matters involving national security (Secs. 1 & 2).

• Requires whistleblower settlements to be accessible to the public and listed online by the Attorney General along with the settlement date, a description of the claim, the amount of the agreement, and how much outside counsel fees were paid for by the state in connection with the litigation (Secs. 5 & 6).
