Title: Prohibits Vaccination of New Foster Children
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the vaccination of children new to the foster care system, among other provisions.
Specifies that a child taken into the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services who remains in conservatorship for more than 3 business days must receive a medical examination and a mental health screening from a physician or other healthcare provider (Sec. 4).
Prohibits a physician or healthcare provider from administering vaccines to a child in the course of such examination (Sec. 4).
Specifies that a physician or healthcare provider may administer a tetanus vaccines to a child in the course of such examination if the physician determines that there is an emergency that necessitates the vaccines (Sec. 4).
Specifies that this prohibition no longer applies after the Department has been named managing conservator of a child in a hearing (Sec. 4).
