A vote to pass a bill that prohibits local law, ordinance or regulation from regulating short-term rental homes differently than residential properties.

Highlights:

• Authorizes local government to regulate property that is used as a vacation rental provided that such regulation is applied uniformly to all residential property without regard to whether or not it’s used as a vacation rental (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits denying a property from operating as a vacation rental or regulating the duration or frequency of vacation rentals (Sec. 1).

• Requires a vacation rental owner to submit to local jurisdiction a copy of the required vacation rental license, certificate of registration, and emergency contact information (Sec. 1).
