Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that removes political party affiliation requirements of certain state governmental entities.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the governor from considering or seeking to discover the political affiliation of an individual when considering the individual for appointment, reappointment, or confirmation to a political board or commission (Sec. 2).

• Requires the governor to appoint without regard to political affiliation members to the Board of Oil, Gas and Mining within the Department of Natural Resources (Sec. 15)

• Repeals the provision that prohibited more than 4 people of the same political party from belonging to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (Sec. 11).

• Establishes the Board of Financial Institutions within the Department of Natural Resources for finance policy making, consisting of the commissioner and 1 representative from each of the following industries (Sec. 2):

• Commercial banking business;

• Consumer lending, money services business, or escrow agency business;

• Industrial bank business;

• Credit union business; and

• One qualified representative from the general public.
