Vote to pass a bill that authorizes religiously-affiliated child placement agencies to deny services that conflict with their sincerely held beliefs.

Highlights:
  • Prohibits the state from discriminating against, refusing to license, or refusing to renew the license of adoption agencies on the basis that the agency declines services because of its religious beliefs (Secs. 4 & 5).

  • Specifies that the decision of a religiously-affiliated child placement agency to refuse services to an individual does not otherwise affect the decisions of other child placement agencies to provide services to such individual (Sec. 5).
