A vote to pass a bill that prohibits parents of children that are disabled from suing their physicians for neglecting to tell them that the child would be born with a disability, effective September 1, 2017.

• Prohibits lawsuits based on the claim that, had it not been for the action or omission of a healthcare professional, a person would not have been allowed to be born (Sec. 1)

• Specifies that this law does not eliminate any duty of a physician or other health-care practitioner (Sec. 1).
